Ofta lades de på väl synliga platser langs kusten och vid farleder. Arkeologiska undersökningar visar att Kauparve röse har byggts i olika omgångar. Röset har varit ungefär 3 meter högt och 18 meter i diameter. Det är byggt av kalksten. Den inre delen består av ett 2.5 meter högt uppmurat torn. Tornet har varit öppet upptill innanför fann man två kistor av stenhällar. I kistorna påträffades skelett efter tre personer samt gravgåvor av brons. Av rösets yttre återstår i dag endast en halvmeterhög mur runt tornet. Muren skulle hålla de stenmassor som fanns mellan kantmuren och tornets krön på plats. När man avlägsnade all denne sten fann man tre begravningar från järnålder. Ca 10 meter sydväst om röset finns en kista ev kalkstenshällar.</ins></div></td></tr>
